My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 121
My Help Comes from the Lord

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
8 The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.

As we struggle through life it is important that we remember where our help comes from. The Lord has promised many times in His Word that His steadfast love for us “will endure forever”. (Psalm 136). This enduring love is assured to us by His ever presence in our lives because it is written “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (Deuteronomy 31:8).  This wonderful Psalm of hope is one we need to take with faith. It is our faith in His promises that assures us that we will be delivered from the troubles of this life. These are not insignificant promises because they come to us from the  “Lord, who made heaven and earth.”  We need to dwell on and with the One who made these promises to us and trust in the only One that can deliver them.

We need to give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, we need to trust in the Lord because His steadfast love endures forever, our trust and faith is in the God of gods, the Lord of lords, in Him who alone does great wonders, in Him who by understanding made the heavens, in Him who spread out the earth above the waters, in Him who made the great lights, the sun to rule over the day, the moon and stars to rule over the night. We need to place our trust in Him who so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (Psalm 136, John 3:16).

When God promises us something we need to understand the promise is from Elohim, God the Creator, Mighty and Strong (Genesis 17:7; Jeremiah 31:33);  El Shaddai, God Almighty, the Mighty One of Jacob (Genesis 49:24; Psalm 132:2,5); Yahweh-Jireh, the Lord who Will Provide (Genesis 22:14);  Yahweh-Rapha, the Lord Who Heals (Exodus 15:26); Yahweh-M’kaddesh, the Lord Who Sanctifies and Makes Holy (Leviticus 20:8; Ezekiel 37:28); Yahweh-Shalom, the Lord of Our Peace (Judges 6:24); Yahweh-Tsidkenu, the Lord of Our Righteousness (Jeremiah 33:16); Yahweh-Rohi, the Lord Our Shepherd (Psalm 23:1); Yahweh-Sabaoth, the Lord of Hosts (Isaiah 1:24; Psalm 46:7); El-Olam, the Everlasting God (Psalm 90:1-3). That is who we worship and bow down to.  We bow before a Mighty Lord and before His Son our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We bow before a God that so loved us that He sacrificed His only begotten Son. We bow before that very Son who gave His life so that we may have eternal life through Him with the Father. That is where our trust should lie and in no other. Take heed of this Psalm, place your faith in the Lord and live with His imparted peace.

Please take the time to view the video below and understand who our King of Kings is. It is great watching and we should remember it when our faith may be faltering. We truly worship and trust in a Mighty Lord.
